Hillwalking

This area of Scotland is well known as a mecca for climbers and walkers and Station Lodge hostel is the perfect base from which to explore the area. The hostel is well placed to give easy access to many of Scotland’s most famous mountains, including many Munroes and Corbetts. There are also many low level forest and open ground walks available within easy reach of the hostel.

The following Munros can be reached on foot from Station Lodge hostel:

West Side of Loch Treig:
Stob a Choire Mheadhoin
Stob Coire Easain

East side of Loch Treig:
Stob Coire Sgriodain
Chno Dearg

North of Tulloch:
Beinn Teallach
Beinn a Chaorainn

The following Munros are all within a few miles of Station Lodge, accessible either by car or cycle:

East of Station Lodge:
Beinn a Chlachair
Geal Charn
Creag Pitridh

North East:
The Creag Meagaidh complex

Both Ben Nevis and Creag Meagaidh are tackled by winter ice climbers when staying at Station Lodge, when conditions permit.

Beinn na Lap and the hills south of Loch Ossian are all accessible by catching the train for one stop to Corrour.

Long hill days such as the Grey Corries or those at the west end of Glen Dessary can be had from Tulloch if you have a car.
